Who is this bundle for?

The Chronicles are the Year 4 starting point for the Cadwaladr series. They cater for a wide range of 11+ tests, including demanding independent-school entrance tests, so children who have only just entered Year 4 might find them difficult at first. Read with your child or read the novels aloud until they're ready to continue alone.

The Trap workbook follows the first novel chapter by chapter, so it must be used with Trap. It contains comprehension questions, vocabulary work, SPaG practice and creative-writing tasks.

Vocabulary help while children read

The on-page dictionary isn't a list to learn. It explains difficult words where they appear so children can follow the story without repeatedly stopping to consult a separate dictionary. The aim is to understand and enjoy the story, not to learn every definition after each page.

The Knowledge Nuggets explain SPaG and literary devices inside the novels. Children should read and understand them because they show how the language works in context.
