We are loving the Cadwaladr Quest series! It is so engaging, my 9 year old has already finished the first book and is about to finish the second, while my 6 year old is reading the first book and loving it too. 😊
It has such an interesting and varied vocabulary that even I, as an adult, have learned a few new words. I especially like the explanations of the grayed out text, which explain different literary devices, meanings of phrases etc.
All in all, I am really happy with my purchase and would highly recommend this series!

The Cadwaladr Chronicles are so amazing that I cannot stop reading. Every morning and evening, I read two whole chapters of the book I am currently on (Cypher).
Every book has a dramatic opening, and eventually readers realise that everything is okay. However, Not everything is okay as the book goes on. Although my father has purchased all four books, students who have only purchased one book can enjoy a sneak peek of the next book at the end, as well as a map of Catrin Castle.
The Cadwaladr Chronicles do not only improve vocabulary, but also help identify literary devices. I look forward to reading The Cadwaladr Quests.”

My son likes to read but his comprehension is not great. Although he started reading the Cadwaladr chronicles book 1 couple of weeks ago, his vocabulary has increased as it’s easy to refer to the meaning of new words displayed on the various chapters. He answers the questions from the work book too. I think the series are really good!

I recently purchased The Cadwaladr Chronicles/Quests 11+ Vocabulary Novels 7-Book Bundle (Year 4 and 5) by S. L. Ager for my son, and I must say, these books have been a fantastic addition to his learning journey. He thoroughly enjoys the engaging stories, and I’ve noticed a remarkable improvement in his vocabulary. The books are well-structured, with challenging words seamlessly integrated into the narrative, making learning both enjoyable and effective.
The idea of linking the books to comprehension materials is a great incentive. It motivates readers to dive deeper into the stories and encourages thoughtful feedback. I look forward to receiving the free comprehension materials, as they will undoubtedly enhance the learning experience further.
However, I do have a concern regarding the cost. While the quality of the books is excellent, the £8 charge for postage and packaging for a full bundle seems unnecessary. Typically, such charges are waived or significantly reduced for larger purchases, and this aspect could be reconsidered to make the bundle more accessible to a wider audience.
Overall, despite the pricing concerns, I would recommend these books for anyone looking to boost their child’s vocabulary in an engaging and structured way. My son is enjoying them immensely, and he is excited to continue the journey through The Cadwaladr Chronicles/Quests
My boy was not a keen reader at all until he started reading The Cadwaladr Chronicles books over the summer holiday. He absolutely loved it and his level of vocabulary has improved immensely since. He often uses the new vocab he learned from the books in his creative writing and I am truly impressed by his work :)
My son finished reading the first book of The Cadwaladr Chronicles and The Cadwaladr Quests and absolutely loves them. He asked for the whole series! So this is my second time to purchase the rest of them and unfortunately I input the wrong address during my order. I sincerely apologise for the confusion this caused. However, I’m pleased to say that Sheena was incredibly helpful in resolving the issue and I received the books today. I’m delighted with my purchase and truly appreciate the excellent service.

Fantastic novels for any child, even reluctant ones that love mostly non-fiction!
The footnotes are novel and particularly useful to expand the reader’s vocabulary without them even realising it. I just wish more books would adopt this method as my children tend to skim over words they don’t fully understand as they can’t be bothered to get a dictionary out and keep looking up words!
Twin daughters have loved this.
I highly recommend these. Wish I knew about them and had got them sooner.
I brought the full set, they are devouring them quickly, and so having the set has made much more sence. It is helping to consolidate the many words they have to learn, in a much more enjoyable way. Word lists just have not worked for them, so this is a much easier way.

Just to clarify, the accompanying A4 book you bought is the Vocabulary Revision Notebook. It isn’t a workbook, and it isn’t described as one on the website. It’s clearly listed as a notebook, and sample inside pages are shown so customers can see exactly how it is intended to be used.
The notebook is designed for children to record difficult words, write their own example sentences and build their vocabulary as they read, rather than work through set exercises.
We can also see that you bought Book 2 of The Cadwaladr Quests. We do hope your son has already read Book 1, Tangled Time, as The Cadwaladr Quests is a three-book serial and the books are designed to be read in order. Book 1 and Book 2 both end with ‘to be continued’, and this is shown clearly across the website. Starting with Book 2 can make the story much harder to follow, as the characters, world and plot have already been introduced in Book 1.

These books are great, the story line is so interesting and my daughter finds the footnotes on each page so helpful. My daughter loves Sheena’s lessons online too, they are so engaging and great practice for 11 plus prep too!
We love how the words are written with their meanings separately but just beneath that text. Easy to refer to and saves alot of time looking it up in the dictionary and then making a note of it. All the work has been done for you. The child just needs to concentrate on learning them.
