Collection: Cadwaladr Chronicles 11+ Reading Books for Year 4

The Cadwaladr Chronicles is a four-book 11+ reading serial for Year 4. Children meet difficult vocabulary, SPaG and literary devices as part of the story, with definitions and explanations on the page.

Where should my child begin?

Start with Trap. It is Book 1, followed by Cipher, Siege and Escape. The four novels form one continuous story and should be read in order.

Has your child only just started Year 4? It is perfectly normal for these books to feel difficult. They cater for all 11+ tests, including the demanding entrance tests for highly selective independent schools. Read with or to your child if needed. Many children become more comfortable with the level as Year 4 progresses.

Do not stop to learn every word. The on-page dictionary is there to help your child understand the story without repeatedly reaching for a separate dictionary. Treat these books like any other novels. Read, enjoy and discuss them.
