Sheena Ager, also known as S.L. Ager, boosts children’s literacy through her 11+ reading books.

Across seven titles in the best-selling Cadwaladr Chronicles and Cadwaladr Quests series, her fantasy-adventure stories support Year 4 and 5 children with advanced vocabulary, SPaG and comprehension, inspired by her own children’s grammar school journey in Reading, Berkshire.

Her first novel, Tangled Time, was written for her son, a reluctant reader preparing for the 11+. Its success led to The Cadwaladr Quests trilogy and a series of workbooks co-created with Education Boutique and XL Education, targeting comprehension and creative writing.

To meet demand from younger readers, Ager later wrote The Cadwaladr Chronicles – a four-book prequel series for Year 4 and 5.

Each reading book now includes Knowledge Nuggets – on-page explanations of literary devices, inference questions and SPaG tips.

They are suitable for GL, ISEB, SET, CSSE, Sutton, Tiffin, Future Stories (FSCE), CEM, all independent schools and SATs.

Ager also runs free weekly online sessions to support children with SPaG, vocabulary and reading confidence.

In her 11+ Facebook group of nearly 9,000 members, parents can upload their child’s work (anonymously if preferred) to receive free feedback from tutors and teachers – fostering a collaborative, parent-friendly learning space.
