Sheena Ager, also known as S. L. Ager, boosts children’s literacy through her 11+ reading books.

Across seven titles in the best-selling Cadwaladr Chronicles and Cadwaladr Quests series, her fantasy-adventure stories support Year 4 and Year 5 children with advanced vocabulary, SPaG and comprehension, inspired by her own children’s grammar school journey in Reading, Berkshire.

Her first novel, Tangled Time, was written for her son, a reluctant reader preparing for the 11+. Its success led to The Cadwaladr Quests trilogy and a series of workbooks co-created with Education Boutique and XL Education, targeting comprehension and creative writing.

To meet demand from younger readers, Ager later wrote The Cadwaladr Chronicles – a four-book prequel series for Years 4 and 5.

Each reading book now includes Knowledge Nuggets – on-page explanations of literary devices, inference questions and SPaG tips.

Ager also runs free weekly online sessions to support children with SPaG, vocabulary and reading confidence.

In her 11+ Facebook group of nearly 9,000 members, parents can upload their child’s work (anonymously if preferred) to receive free feedback from tutors and teachers – fostering a collaborative, parent-friendly learning space.
