What happens in Tangled Time?

Claire learns that she is descended from twelfth-century knights and becomes caught in a race to protect a powerful artefact. Tangled Time begins one continuous story told across the three Cadwaladr Quests novels.

Vocabulary help while children read

The on-page dictionary isn't a list to learn. Definitions appear beside difficult words so children can understand the story without repeatedly stopping to consult a separate dictionary. They should read a definition when needed, then carry on with the story.

The Knowledge Nuggets explain SPaG and literary devices in context, including metaphor, personification, idiom, irony and inference.

Tangled Time is the main Year 5 starting point for the Cadwaladr series. It also suits confident Year 4 readers and children who want to begin the Quests without first reading the four Chronicles novels.
